Jimena Viveros
Commissioner - Global Commission on Responsible Artificial Intelligence in the Military Domain
Jimena Viveros is a Member of the UN Secretary General’s High-Level Advisory Body on AI, advancing recommendations for global governance of AI. Additionally, she is Commissioner of the GC-REAIM, and serves as Chief of Staff and Head Legal Advisor of Justice Loretta Ortiz at the Mexican Supreme Court.
Previously, she held leadership positions at the Federal Judicial Council, the Ministry of Security, and the Ministry of Finance as Director General. Furthermore, her vast international work experience includes various roles at the International Criminal Court, the Ad-hoc Tribunals, the OPCW, the UN Verification Mission in Colombia for the FARC disarmament, the Lebanese Supreme Court, and several NGOs.
Jimena’s work on AI and other areas of law is widely published. Furthermore, she is finalizing her Doctoral thesis, under the supervision of Dr. Claus Kreß at Cologne University, on the impact of AI and autonomous weapons on international peace and security law and policy.
