Vjačeslavs Dombrovskis chairs Latvian Parliament\\\’s committee for sustainable development, responsible for oversight of the country\\\’s National Development Plan. Before that he was the founder and director of privately funded Certus think tank (2015-2018), which worked on economic development strategies. During his extensive political and public sector career Vjačeslavs served as a minister of education and science (2013-2014), minister of economy (2014), chair of parliamentary economic committee (2011-2013). Vjačeslavs also worked in academia as assistant professor at the Stockholm School of Economics in Riga and research fellow at Baltic International Centre of Economic  Policy Studies (2003-2011). His research interests were primarily in the areas of economic development and political economy.  He was a Fulbright fellow, as well as Amelia Earhart fellow. He holds Master’s degree and PhD in economics from Clark University in Worcester, Massachusetts (USA) with specialization in public finance and applied econometrics.
