Dr ALBERTO MERCHANTE GONZÁLEZ works at the Spanish Ministry of Economic Affairs and Digital Transformation, where he is in charge of coordinating the national AI policy at different forums. He was elected vice-president of the UNESCO Intergovernmental negotiation of the Recommendation on Ethics of Artificial Intelligence and National Anchor Point of the European Language Resource Coordination network. He holds a DPhil (PhD) in Biochemistry from Oxford University and has delivered special seminars and lectures at the universities of Harvard, Oxford, USTC (Hefei), and KAUST (Thuwal). Alberto also a Chartered Lawyer in Spain.
