Executive Director - National Electronics and Computer Technology Center (NECTEC)
Dr. Chai Wutiwiwatchai received his Ph.D. in Computer Science and Engineering from Tokyo Institute of Technology, Japan. His current position is the Executive Director of National Electronics and Computer Technology Center (NECTEC) under National Science and Technology Development Agency (NSTDA) of Thailand. His expertise covers Digital Signal Processing, Human-Computer Interaction, and Artificial Intelligence.
He has joined in various national and international collaborative projects relating to language and speech processing. He also led the development of ThaiMOOC, a Massive Open Online Course system of Thai Cyber University (TCU).
According to his success, he has been recognized as one of 66 young leaders shaping Thailand’s future given by Bangkok Post in 2014, and also received the runner-up award of the Outstanding Technologist from the Foundation for the Promotion of Science and Technology under the Patronage of H.M. the King in 2015.
At present, he serves on many important committees such as the Electronic Transactions Development Agency, Digital Government Development Agency, Broadcasting and Telecommunications Research and Development Fund for Public Interest. He has also taken a vital part in driving the Sustainable Manufacturing Center at Eastern Economic Corridor of Innovation (EECi) since 2019 as well as the Thailand National AI Strategy since 2022.
