This strategic vision for AI in Luxembourg articulates the activities, ambitions and intentions related to the role of AI, both in Luxembourg and across the EU and is a government-approved strategic document.

The Luxembourg National Research Fund provides a variety of research funding instruments that, while not exclusively focused on AI, are available to support AI-based projects. These include fellowships, PhD grants, and funding for companies looking to adopt innovative technologies.

The LIFE project focuses on creating climate-resilient, water-efficient, and self-sustainable agri-food systems. As climate change threatens food security, the project emphasises sustainable techniques like hydroponics and locally sourced fertilisers. It transforms animal manure into nutrient solutions for hydroponic farming, with Digital Twin technology optimising this process to increase efficiency and reduce resource consumption.

Sandkëscht is a regulatory sandbox launched by Luxembourg's National Commission for Data Protection. Open to any entity established in Luxembourg regardless of size or sector, it provides a dedicated environment for testing projects involving new technologies, particularly artificial intelligence systems, while ensuring compliance with data protection principles. Participation lasts generally between 9 and 18 months.

Luxembourg's Ministry for Digitalization has organized a series of workshops on AI and data governance for public decision-makers. These workshops aim to raise awareness and prepare for the upcoming review of the National AI2030 Strategy, ensuring that key stakeholders are informed and engaged in shaping the future of AI and data governance in the country.
