Background including shifts in the policy initiative:
  • In 2018, Mexico presented its AI strategy. Also in 2018, nine institutions from all sectors founded the IA2030Mx citizen coalition, which raised the need for a national, multi-disciplinary, multi-sector and collaborative exercise to develop an action plan that would serve the government, academia, civil society and industry.

    Its objective is the development and use of AI as a tool to increase the competitiveness of companies, contributes to an inclusive development and to reduce inequality gaps. It lays the foundations for the ethical development and use of AI, mitigating present and future social and environmental risks.
    It includes 6 thematic axes:
