KSA AI+ Certification

AI+ Certification is a certification scheme for AI products and services run by the Korean Standards Association (KSA), a public standards body under Korea's Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy. It gives organisations an objective way to show the quality and reliability of their AI products and services. It also helps them gain the trust of customers and other stakeholders and respond early to international developments in AI regulation and standards.

Certification combines two assessments. KSA carries out an on-site certification audit based on ISO/IEC 42001 (AI management systems) and additional AI-specific requirements. The audit checks that an organisation has a management system that continuously improves the quality of its AI software, ICT products and services, using AI risk management and the Plan-Do-Check-Act (PDCA) cycle. Audit criteria include leadership, analysis of organisational context and risk response, AI management planning and strategy, training, management of measurement resources, technology level and documentation.

In parallel, the testing laboratory Wisestone carries out product testing based on ISO/IEC 25059 and 25051, which evaluates the product's quality characteristics and its AI functions from the user's perspective. KSA offers the scheme at several levels: AI+ Standard for model performance and functionality, and AI+ Premium for overall product quality. In December 2025, KSA added AI+ Trust, which assesses operational trustworthiness across the AI lifecycle in line with Korea's AI Basic Act.
