EuroDaT

EuroDaT

EuroDaT is a European data trustee that facilitates secure, legally compliant data transactions between organizations. Its core competence lies in enabling independent analysis of shared data while preserving privacy and data sovereignty. By acting as a neutral intermediary, EuroDaT ensures that sensitive data can be processed in a controlled and encrypted environment, fostering trust among participants across sectors such as finance, healthcare, and public administration.

Traditional data trustees often rely on centralized data storage or long-term custody models. The transaction-based approach developed by EuroDaT based in Wiesbaden, Germany only handles data temporarily for the duration of a specific transaction, without retaining it afterward. This approach significantly reduces the risk of data misuse or breaches and aligns more closely with principles of data minimization and purpose limitation. It also enables dynamic, on-demand data collaborations that are auditable and legally compliant, offering a more agile and privacy-preserving alternative to conventional trustee models.

As a recognized Gaia-X Lighthouse Project, EuroDaT exemplifies a comprehensive data governance framework by combining legal, technical, and organizational safeguards. It offers modular components like contract templates, secure storage, and a computation engine that automates and encrypts data transactions. These elements allow for standardized, auditable processes that align with European data protection regulations, enabling cross-border data collaboration
