Professor Byoungpil Kim is a distinguished authority in Korea on data privacy issues related to AI. He has authored or edited several books and scholarly articles focusing on AI ethics, governance, and data protection, with a particular emphasis on fairness in AI. He has contributed to various government initiatives to improve legal frameworks concerning AI and data protection. Notably, he was instrumental in drafting the Guideline on AI Fairness for Financial Institutions by the Korean Financial Services Commission, and the Guidebook on Copyright of Generative AI by the Korean Copyright Commission.
