Kyoungjin Choi

Kyoungjin Choi is Professor of Law and Director of Center for AI·Data and Policy at Gachon University. As a representative expert with a long period of academic research and practical experience in artificial intelligence, data, and privacy, he served as Chairman of the Drafting Committee for the Personal Information Protection Act fully revised in 2023 and President of the Personal Information Protection Law Association (PIPLA). Now he is President of Korea Association for Artificial Intelligence and Law (KAAIL) and Chairman of Korea Association of Personal Data Professionals (KAPP). He has also served as Korea Delegate to United Nations Commission on International Trade Law (UNCITRAL) and Member of Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) ECBA Expert Committee for many years.
His recent publications are Artificial Intelligence Law(2024), Personal Information Protection Law(2024), 100 Selections of Personal Data Precedents(2022), Data and the Law of Obligations(2022), Artificial Intelligence and Standard Form Contract(2021), A.I. and the Law (2019), Data Ownership (2019), Data Economy (2017), Law and Policy of Personal Data Protection (2016), InforMedia Law Case Study 100 (2016), Consumer Law (2013), The Internet at the Crossroads (2012). His “Electronic Commerce and the Law(1998)” was the first professional book in Korea on the legal aspect of e-commerce.
