Dr Melisa Basol is a social psychologist and founder of Pulse, an innovation lab creating evidence-based strategies for more human-centred technologies. She is known for pioneering large-scale interventions against misinformation, including the UN-backed Go Viral! game and Google’s prebunking campaigns to counter election misinformation across Europe. Together, these initiatives have reached over 200 million people worldwide. Recognised by Forbes 30 Under 30, she also sits on the Ofcom Advisory Board, shaping policy and practice on digital resilience. Her research appears in The Guardian, The Times, and The Washington Post. She is a regular public speaker, with appearances at BBC News, the Hay Festival, and the Cambridge Festival of Ideas. Dr Basol publishes widely in peer-reviewed journals and gives guest lectures at universities, including Sciences Po and the Sorbonne. She read Psychology at the University of Cambridge, earning a Master’s and PhD as a Gates Scholar.
