Şeyma ÖZCAN
Unit Manager of the Department of International Relations - Digital Transformation Office of the Presidency of the Republic of Türkiye.
Şeyma ÖZCAN completed her double major at Middle East Technical University (METU) in 2004 and graduated from Architecture and Geographic Information Systems and Remote Sensing departments. She completed her Master’s Degree in METU Geodesy and Geographical Information Technologies (GGIT) in 2009. She received his PhD qualification from METU Informatics Institute, Information Systems Department.
In addition to her academic background, she has over 18 years of work experience in Statistics, Software Management and Geographical Information Systems (GIS) and Digital Transformation in the public sector.
Between 2006-2020, she worked as an Expert in the field of Base Registry Systems and GIS at the Turkish Statistical Institute (TurkStat). Between 2020-2021, she worked as the Software Manager at the IT Department of the Ministry of Energy and Natural Resources. She is currently working as the Unit Manager of the Department of International Relations at the Digital Transformation Office of the Presidency of the Republic of Türkiye.
She also serves as a national delegate to the Committee on Artificial Intelligence (CAI) of the Council of Europe (CoE), NATO Data and Artificial Intelligence Review Board (DARB), Global AI Partnership (GPAI) and many other international fora which works on AI.
