Uroš Poluga
- Consultant, Ministry of Science, Technological Development and Innovation
Uroš is an expert in AI policies, projects, and risk assessment, and the 2025 Co-Chair of the GPAI Plenary and Steering Group.
Building on his extensive knowledge of AI principles, delicate understanding of the context of implementation, and the scope of the AI system, his expertise is in the development and implementation of AI governance, including strategies and policies, as well as in the development of trustworthy and responsible AI projects. He facilitated and managed the discussion for the new Serbian AI Strategy on the development of AI for 2025-2030 (adopted in January 2025), and is a member of a working group for a new law that would regulate the use of AI in Serbia. He is involved in the development of projects for the implementation of AI in the public sector, including the judiciary, energy, public administration, and mobility sectors. His experience in law, finance, and policy and technology implementation enables him to have a holistic approach to AI, so important for understanding AI topics and the development and implementation of policies and projects.
Following Uros’ participation in the GPAI Summit in New Delhi in July 2024, at which a renewed vision for GPAI as integrated partnership at the OECD was announced, he was then a member of the organising team of the GPAI Summit in Belgrade, and he led consultations on the Belgrade Declaration. He has since been spoken at various events organised or supported by the GPAI Secretariat.
