Valéria Silva is an interdisciplinary expert in comparative digital regulation and international economic policy, specialising in AI governance, intellectual property, competition law and international trade. She is a Visiting Professor at FGV Rio\’s Centre for Technology and Society and a member of the Advisory Committee at 4iP Council. She has collaborated with leading international organisations such as the OECD, where she supported the OECD.AI Policy team in conducting comparative analyses of national AI strategies, AI regulatory frameworks and incident taxonomies, as well as identifying emerging policy trends at the intersection of environmental sustainability and digital technology. 

Her career includes roles as Affiliate Professor at ESCP Europe, Senior Fellow at the Carnegie Council for Ethics in International Affairs, Head of the International Department and Chief of Staff at the Brazilian Competition Authority, and postdoctoral fellow at Princeton, Oxford, and NYU. Valéria holds a PhD from the University of São Paulo and master’s degrees from Harvard Law School, Université Panthéon-Sorbonne and the World Trade Institute.
