Winston Ojenge
Senior research fellow and Head of the digital economy program - African Center for Technology Studies (ACTS)
Ojenge is a senior research fellow and head of the digital economy program at the African Center for Technology Studies (ACTS), an inter-governmental think tank that develops science, technology and innovation policy for African governments. He is the founder of the lab for ethics, policy and scaling of AI (LEPSAI) at the center. He also lectures AI and robotics at the Technical University of Kenya.
He leads several projects which attempt to mentor AI researchers and innovators to scale their innovations responsibly. These projects are funded by GPAI and IDRC, among others.
He has an experience of over 10 years in the design and development of digital technologies. He holds five patents with KIPI (Kenya Industrial Property Institute).
Ojenge holds a PhD in computer science.
