The APEC Digital & AI Ministerial Meeting, first held on 4 August 2025 in Incheon, is a regional initiative bringing together 21 member economies to advance cooperation on artificial intelligence and digital transformation. It is implemented through ministerial discussions and a shared statement setting a common vision focused on innovation, connectivity and safety to guide future AI and digital cooperation.

Initiative overview

The meeting included discussions on how emerging digital technologies, particularly AI, can improve productivity and address social challenges, alongside the importance of sharing policy practices and strengthening cooperation. It also addressed closing the digital divide, enhancing digital skills, and increasing investment in infrastructure, while highlighting the need for coordinated efforts to respond to AI‑driven threats and build a secure digital environment.
