This version of the Government of Canada (GC) AI Register is a minimum viable product (MVP), or an early version with only basic features and content that is used to gather feedback. It was assembled from existing sources of information, including Algorithmic Impact Assessments, Access to Information requests, responses to Parliamentary Questions, Personal Information Banks, and the GC Service Inventory.

The AI Agent for Travel is an artificial intelligence assistant that gives public service employees quick, clear answers about travel rules and expense claims. It was created by government staff to reduce the large number of emails, delays, and confusion caused by complex travel policies. The assistant provides answers in seconds, saves staff time, and lowers administrative costs.

The initiative quantifies the environmental regulatory burden in Chile by analysing environmental permits to identify the specific obligations generated. By providing objective evidence, it supports authorities and investors in creating a more transparent and efficient regulatory framework. The tool was developed to overcome the challenges of manual data processing, transforming thousands of pages of complex requirements into clear, comparable data for a more effective regulatory evaluation.

Formez PA's AI Pilot for CV Screening is an internal tool that helps Formez’ selection committees review CVs from candidates applying to become consultants for Formez PA's project activities. It uses natural language processing to identify skills and create a preliminary ranking based on job requirements, reducing manual workload for staff. Launched in May 2025, it addresses the sharp rise in internal applications via the inPA portal while keeping human judgement central to decisions.

Camilla is a generative AI virtual assistant that helps citizens access clear, up-to-date information on public recruitment competitions through the inPA Portal, Italy’s single gateway for public administration hiring. Developed by Formez PA with CSI Piemonte, it enhances access to notices, simplifies participation, and reduces the workload of staff managing assistance requests.

Municipal council meetings are the core of local democracy, yet citizens rarely engage with them. In Greece, meetings are legally public but practically inaccessible: hours of unstructured video, no searchable records, and no way to know when your neighbourhood is discussed. The 2024 OECD Survey on Drivers of Trust found that only 21% of Greeks believe they can influence government, among the lowest in Europe.

Austria has great potential in terms of industrial and commercial brownfield sites. The initiative is a nationwide public AI-based map that identifies these brownfields primarily based on geodata and aerial photographs. It was created to provide reliable information on unused industrial and commercial sites for planners, municipalities, developers and researchers. The goal is to support land recycling and reduce land consumption by making these opportunities visible.

AAFC’s Innovation, Automation and AI Acceleration (i3A) advances responsible AI adoption by combining a Centre of Expertise, cross-functional pods, enterprise training, tool deployment, and innovation showcases. The programme builds skills and capacity while enabling employees closest to delivery to test and scale solutions that reduce repetitive work, improve efficiency, and strengthen service delivery and data management across the organisation.

Two publications were developed 1) to support courts in determining whether and how to best use AI tools to enhance court operations and 2) in responding to the use of AI by court users, including litigants, counsel, and others engaging directly with the court respectively.

DaFNE (Database for Research on Sustainable Development) is an online platform, used to manage and publish nationally funded research projects. Research results are stored there in the form of report files (PDF). To facilitate broad and easy access to these results for multiple stakeholder groups, a chatbot was developed to support an efficient information retrieval. This chatbot is a text-based dialogue system, based on a vector database and LLM, which only accesses publicly available projects.

PolluSense is an AI-driven pilot that uses satellite data to detect industrial pollution in Canadian freshwater ecosystems in near-real time. It supports compliance with the Canadian Environmental Protection Act and the Fisheries Act by automatically flagging water-quality changes for analyst review and routing confirmed events to regional officers. It enables cost-effective, continuous monitoring, improving response times, enforcement, and freshwater protection.

Posta Kopilot is an AI-powered mobile application that assists postal workers with manual mail sorting at the National Post of Serbia (Pošta Srbije), which processes over 2.1 million pieces daily. By interpreting address information and guiding sorting decisions in real time, it has increased sorting efficiency by over 20% and cut new-employee onboarding from several months to a few weeks. Developed through Serbia's Innovation Fund GovTech programme with LambdaWorks.

Tax control reviews a large number of tax forms for undisclosed rental incomes each year, taking up time and manpower. A prediction model has been developed which has the ability to predict the likelihood of an undisclosed rental income on a tax form before the tax form is submitted. This has resulted in substantial gains in tax collection, and both freed up time and manpower otherwise used in more difficult tax control cases.

Data governance in Ireland is overseen by the Data Governance Board under the Data Sharing and Governance Act 2019, enabling transparent data sharing across Public Sector Bodies. The OGCIO Data Governance Unit provides a Playbook to ensure secure, transparent sharing under the Act. This PoV shows how governed AI agents can support drafting DSAs at Stage 3 of the Playbook, with no autonomous decisions, full Human in the Loop oversight, and strong adherence to governance principles.

Japan is developing a prototype AI agent that automates routine administrative work common across ministries/agencies, allowing policymakers to focus on strategic tasks. By combining the knowledge of government staff with Digital Agency’s engineering skills the aim is to create user‑centered tools that fit real operations and gather issues from frontline teams, prioritize feasible improvements, and accelerate practical solutions while also reducing burdens caused by outdated rules and procedures

This initiative predicts future costs for each water plant and for each main spending category, such as electricity, chemicals, labor, and maintenance. It helps finance and operations teams plan budgets better, spot unusual cost increases early, and make better decisions on where to control spending. It was developed to improve cost visibility, reduce surprises in future expenses, and support more efficient management of water production assets.

The Province of Córdoba (Argentina) developed an autonomous AI agent system that monitors, diagnoses, and resolves incidents in the digital infrastructure supporting public services. Operating across government cloud platforms serving 3.8 million citizens, it reduces service disruptions from hours to minutes while creating full audit trails for every automated action. https://infografia-aws-gob-cba.vercel.app/

National professional development programme led by the UAE Ministry of Education and delivered in partnership with the Emirates College for Advanced Education to equip teachers and school leaders to integrate AI into teaching, assessment and school practice. It builds practical capability across seven curriculum-aligned AI areas, including AI foundations, data and algorithms, ethical use, classroom applications and innovation. Launched at GITEX Global 2025, scaling to train 5,000 educators.

AISI Deutschland is a national competence and evaluation center for Frontier AI models. It combines technical, strategic, and security policy expertise within a single central institution. AISI Deutschland is intended to enable the Federal Government to - identify safety and security-related risks at an early stage, - develop evidence-based courses of action, - strengthen Germany’s digital sovereignty with regard to AI safety and security, and - strategically assess international developments.

Japan's Digital Agency ran a pilot from December 2023 to March 2024 testing how text-based generative AI could improve government work. Officials at central ministries and selected local governments used a chat platform with multiple large language models, examining use cases including public comment processing, regulatory drafting, and code generation. The pilot generated practical knowledge on where generative AI delivers efficiency gains and quality improvements in administration.
