AI Governance and Policy Specialist - Health AI - The Global Agency for Responsible AI in Health
Amanda is an AI Governance and Policy Specialist at HealthAI. She was previously associate, AI Governance at The Future Society. She is a lawyer and political scientist with experience in law & technology, public policy and socio-technical research in AI. Her career is focused on bridging the gap between emerging technologies and the rule of law. Her main research topics have been on policies and regulation to combat disinformation, digital and information literacy, responsible AI adoption in the public sector, and the current challenges for ethics in the AI industry. Her past work experiences include legal advice and advocacy at public institutions and non-profit organizations in Brazil, legal advice and operations for EdTech companies in Latin America, project management and research at Mila – Québec AI Institute, and research for the Global Observatory on Urban AI. Amanda completed her LLB and accreditation with the Bar Association in Brazil. She holds a MSc in Political Science at Université de Montréal, in Canada. She is currently based in Montreal and speaks fluent Portuguese, English, French and Spanish.
