Anthony Aguirre is the Executive Director of the Future of Life Institute, an international NGO focusing on the implications of transformational technology, especially Artificial Intelligence; he is also the Faggin Professor of the Physics of Information at University of California at Santa Cruz. His academic research has spanned a very wide variety of topics from foundational physics to AI policy. Aguirre also co-founded and is and President of Metaculus, an online science and technology forecasting platform, and is the co-founder and President of the Foundational Questions Institute, a US nonprofit supporting fundamental physics research. He did his PhD at Harvard University, and Postdoctoral work as a member at the Institute for Advanced Study in Princeton.
