
Constance Bommelaer
Executive Director AI & Society - Institute (University of ENS – PSL)
Constance de Leusse has more than 20 years of professional experience. She serves as Executive Director of the AI and Society Institute at École Normale Supérieure (PSL) and as Senior Advisor to the Technology and Global Affairs Innovation Hub at Sciences Po. She also serves on the Board of Directors of the Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers (ICANN).
Constance began her career at the French Prime Minister’s Office (2003–2006), where she worked on information society issues, before joining the Internet Society (2006–2022). As Vice President for Institutional Relations and Empowerment, she led the Internet Society’s international partnerships and policy work across stakeholder communities. She also developed training and learning programs to empower the next generation of technology leaders to build an Internet that creates opportunity and serves the public interest. In addition, she was seconded to the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organisation from 2013 to 2014, where she contributed to the development of the organisation’s digital agenda.
Constance has served on numerous high-level committees, including the World Economic Forum’s Internet for All Steering Committee and the U.N. Secretary-General’s Multistakeholder Advisory Group for the Internet Governance Forum. She holds a master’s degree in law from Paris-Panthéon-Assas University, a postgraduate degree in EU politics from Sciences Po, a management diploma from the London School of Economics and Political Science, and a certificate from the International Directors Programme at INSEAD.
Having grown up in the United States and lived in Switzerland, she is now based in Paris.
