Technology Advisor - Office of the Under-Secretary General and Special Advisor on Preparations for the 75th UN Anniversary & the SG’s Roadmap for Digital Cooperation
Danit Gal is Technology Advisor at the United Nations, leading work on AI under the UN Secretary General’s Roadmap for Digital Cooperation. She is interested in technology ethics, geopolitics, governance, safety, and security. Previously, she was Project Assistant Professor at the Cyber Civilizations Research Center at Keio University in Tokyo, Japan. Danit serves as the vice chair of the P7009 IEEE standard on the Fail-Safe Design of Autonomous and Semi-Autonomous Systems, and serves on the executive committee of The IEEE Global Initiative on Ethics of Autonomous and Intelligent Systems. She is an Associate Fellow at the Leverhulme Centre for the Future of Intelligence at the University of Cambridge, and an Affiliate at the Center for Information Technology Policy at Princeton University.
