Derya has been the inaugural lead of the OECD Expert Group on AI for Health. As a medical doctor, previously to joining the OECD as an analyst, she practiced as a clinician scientist and mental health specialist. Her academic work focused on the ethical implementation of AI in healthcare. She authored several peer-reviewed publications on various topics, ranging from algorithmic fairness to predictive medicine and taught courses in medicine, neuroscience and data science for life sciences.
