Duncan Cass-Beggs
Executive Director, Global AI Risks Initiative - Centre for International Governance Innovation (CIGI)
Duncan Cass-Beggs is Executive Director of the Global AI Risk Initiative at the Centre for International Governance Innovation (CIGI), a global policy think tank focused on the intersection of technology and governance. Duncan leads CIGI’s work on strengthening national public policy and international collaboration on emerging global risks from artificial intelligence. Duncan was Senior Counsellor for Strategic Foresight at the OECD from 2016 to 2022, where he led the OECD Strategic Foresight Unit and its work in conducting collaborative strategic foresight initiatives on emerging global issues and public policy priorities. Prior to joining the OECD, Duncan served as Director of Strategic Foresight at Policy Horizons Canada and in various public policy positions within the public service of Canada. Duncan has a Masters degree in the politics of Africa and Asia from the University of London.
