
Fahad Ali Albalawi

Fahad Ali Albalawi is a senior AI strategist, academic, and founder with extensive experience across government, industry, and academia. He currently serves as AI Chief Strategy Advisor, leading national AI governance initiatives in Saudi Arabia and advising on global regulatory alignment with UNESCO, the UN, and OECD. He is also the founder of Deep Horizon, a startup developing secure AI systems, and a 2024 expert panelist for the International AI Safety Report led by Prof. Yoshua Bengio. Previously, he held senior roles at SDAIA, KAUST, and served as a visiting professor at UC Berkeley. With a Ph.D. from UCLA and postdoctoral work at KAUST and Imperial College London, his research spans AI, control systems, and digital transformation. He is a senior IEEE member, associate editor for major conferences, and a co-inventor on multiple U.S. patents in AI and process control
