Ms. Katrina KOSA-AMMARI serves as a Counsellor of the Foreign Economic Relations Promotion Division at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Latvia. Her current portfolio contains horizontal digital co-operation issues including in the realm of the breakthrough technologies such as artificial intelligence, quantum computing, VR and AR solutions and others. Her highlights include co-coordination of the UNESCO World Press Freedom Day that took place in Riga during Latvia’s EU Presidency (2015) as well as of “The Riga Global Meeting of Experts on the Ethical Aspects of Information Society” (2013). Katrīna has also co-ordinated Latvia’s participation in international digital policy events like IGF (2017, Geneva), WSIS Forum (2016, 2017 and 2019, Geneva) and Foreign Minister’s participation at the Riga Summit on the Multilingual Digital Single Market (2015). Katrīna has graduated from the Department of Political Science, University of Lund, Sweden as a Master of European Affairs in Politics. Before that she studied political science at the Faculty of History and Philosophy, University of Latvia, and at the Department of Political Science, University of Wales, Swansea.
