Laurent Daudet
Co-CEO - LightOn
Laurent Daudet is the Co-CEO at LightOn, a startup he co-founded in 2016, headquartered in Paris, France. Laurent has a key role in growing and managing a highly-technical team, developing and commercializing best-in-class Large Language Models. He also drives the business and technical roadmaps while discussing key partnerships, notably for the French and European markets.
Laurent is currently on full-time leave from his position as Professor of Physics at the Université Paris Cité, one of France’s leading universities, where he is a recognized expert at the crossroads of signal processing, information theory, and wave physics. He has held various academic positions: fellow of the Institut Universitaire de France (top 2% french academics), associate professor at Universite Pierre et Marie Curie, Visiting Senior Lecturer at Queen Mary University of London, UK, Visiting Professor at the National Institute for Informatics in Tokyo, Japan, and visiting scholar at Stanford University. Laurent has authored or co-authored more than 200 scientific publications, has been a consultant to various small and large companies and is a co-inventor in several patents.
He is a physics graduate from Ecole Normale Superieure in Paris and holds a Ph.D. in Applied Mathematics from Marseille University.
