Since 2013, Mario has been Head of Science and Innovation for the British Consulate General in Montreal. As AI Leader, he is responsible for strengthening and fostering collaborations with Canada in AI and digital technologies. He possesses a Master’s degree (2002) and a Doctor of Philosophy (2009) in emerging technologies from McGill University. Prior to this role, Mario worked for Canada’s International Development Research Centre (IDRC) and for the Commission for Environmental Cooperation in North America as a specialist in emerging technologies and vulnerable communities exposed to environmental pollutants. He has also worked as a faculty lecturer at McGill University and many international universities.
