Mark Latonero is Deputy Director of the National AI Initiative Office at the White House Office of Science and Technology Policy. Before taking up this job, he was a senior policy advisor for AI at National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) and working on AI risks and international policy/standards coordination drawing from sociotechnical expertise & diverse stakeholders. He is also a research professor at Georgetown University. He was a Senior Policy Advisor of Partnership on AI. Senior Associate of Center for Strategic and International Studies (CSIS) and fellow at Harvard Kennedy School’s Carr Center for Human Rights Policy. He has also served as the Innovation Consultant for the UN Office of the High Commissioner for Human Rights.
