Rommel Infante is an analyst in the Undersecretary of Digital Policy and Regulation of the Secretariat of Government and Digital Transformation of the Presidency of the Council of Ministers. His focus is on the public governance of AI, comparative digital regulation in Latin America, and the regulatory and social conditions necessary for the public use of automated decision systems. He has been in charge of preparing the draft Regulation of the Artificial Intelligence Law of Peru. Before joining the Presidency of the Council of Ministers, he founded the NGO Empatia Lab dedicated to the ethical promotion of AI. He worked as a researcher on applying ethical principles in AI and as a lawyer advising on the regulation of digital services, protection of personal data, and cybersecurity.
