Simon Mylius

Simon is a chartered engineer, focused on applying Systems Engineering methodology to the technical governance of Artificial Intelligence.
He completed the 2025 Winter Fellowship at the Centre for the Governance of AI, working on the application of Systems Theoretic Process Analysis (STPA) to frontier AI, and went on to lead the AI Incident Tracker project for the MIT AI Risk Initiative – a classification tool and dashboard designed to add structure to datasets of reported AI safety incidents. He also leads the AI Governance Mapping project – a collaboration between MIT FutureTech and CSET to map AI governance documents to risk domains and other relevant taxonomies.
