Zainab Malik is the Policy and Advocacy Advisor at The Hague Institute For Innovation of Law (HiiL). She heads the development of global policy and advocacy strategies to advance people-centred justice approaches world-wide. Zainab also leads HiiL\\\’s Justice Innovation Lab (JIL) practice that supports the design of people-centred justice solutions grounded in data and evidence through collaborative and locally-led design processes. In this role, she has facilitated the development of innovative, access to justice solutions in Uganda, Nigeria, Tunisia and Ethiopia. Previously, Zainab worked on the development of multi-country access to justice and judicial reform initiatives in West Africa and the Middle-East and North Africa (MENA) region through the International Development Law Organisation (IDLO).

Zainab holds a Masters of Law (LLM) from Harvard Law School and is an experienced lawyer who has worked for over a decade on advancing criminal justice reform, accountability for torture and sexual violence, and the rights of vulnerable prisoners in South Asia and the Gulf Countries.
