AI factory - Pharos
This flagship project under the Blueprint for Greece’s AI Transformation is one of seven EU AI Factories, aiming to accelerate AI innovation by serving as a hub for academia, research, the public sector and private enterprises aiming to develop innovative AI-driven services, spanning sectors of health, Greek language and culture, and sustainability and energy (including climate adaptation). The project will leverage the high-performance computing infrastructure of the “DAEDALUS” supercomputer.

National Artificial Intelligence Competition (NAIC)
The ARCHIMEDES Unit of the Athena Research Center, together with key Greek AI and education organisations, organises the National Artificial Intelligence Competition (NAIC) for middle and high school students. The competition introduces students to AI techniques such as machine learning, computer vision and natural language processing. Winners represent Greece at the International Olympiad in Artificial Intelligence.

It aims to transition Greece to a fully functional land registry system by 2025, using AI to streamline legal reviews and correct records.

Pioneers in AI
The project “Students of Natural Sciences: Pioneers in Artificial Intelligence” offers an online AI course designed for science students. Developed under the “Science For You – SciFy” initiative with support from the Education Office of NCSR “Demokritos”, it includes videos, exercises, and other interactive materials to make AI learning accessible.
