Saudi Arabia revealed its National Strategy for Data & AI (NSDAI) which aims to make the country a global leader in Artificial Intelligence by 2030.

The Responsible AI Policy promotes the responsible development and use of AI aligned with ethical principles across the whole AI lifecycle. It shapes the direction for providing clear guidance to manage risks while enabling innovation. It promotes ethical and responsible use as well as mitigating harms such as bias, privacy violations, and misuse, while strengthening trust and accountability in AI systems.

This initiative predicts future costs for each water plant and for each main spending category, such as electricity, chemicals, labor, and maintenance. It helps finance and operations teams plan budgets better, spot unusual cost increases early, and make better decisions on where to control spending. It was developed to improve cost visibility, reduce surprises in future expenses, and support more efficient management of water production assets.

This initiative develops an AI-powered inspection tool that helps SFDA inspectors verify whether food, pharmaceutical, cosmetic, and medical device products comply with SFDA regulations. Inspectors can photograph or scan a product, and the system automatically extracts key details and checks them against official registration databases and safety standards. The tool was developed to reduce manual inspection time, minimise human error, and strengthen public health protection.

RASID is an AI-powered inspection system developed by the Saudi Food and Drug Authority to support inspectors at border checkpoints. The system analyses images of medicines carried by travelers to detect controlled substances and verify compliance with regulatory rules. It improves inspection speed, accuracy, and consistency while protecting public health and preventing misuse of restricted drugs.
