Saudi Arabia revealed its National Strategy for Data & AI (NSDAI) which aims to make the country a global leader in Artificial Intelligence by 2030.

HumAIn is Saudi Arabia's national AI company, serving as the flagship platform for national AI infrastructure under the Vision 2030 strategy for economic diversification. The Saudi Public Investment Fund (PIF) has allocated more than $40 billion to AI-related ventures including HumAIn, focusing on the physical underpinnings of AI, energy, data centres, semiconductors, and connectivity, to position Saudi Arabia as a global compute hub for emerging markets across Africa and Asia.

Outline the provisions and procedures concerning the transfer of personal data outside the Kingdom to ensure an appropriate level of protection for personal data and the data subject's privacy.

In September 2024, Minister of Education Yousef bin Abdullah Al-Benyan and Saudi Data and AI Authority (SDAIA) President Abdullah bin Sharaf Alghamdi launched the "One Million Saudi in AI" initiative , aiming to empower 1 million Saudis in artificial intelligence (AI).

The Regulation on the Transfer of Personal Data Outside the Kingdom ("Transfer Regulation") sets out the provisions to be followed upon transfer, including the Clauses applied in cases where Controllers are exempted from the requirements to comply with the level of protection and the minimum level of transfer of Personal Data .
