Initiative overview
In December 2024, Poland’s NASK (National Research Institute) announced the creation of the AI Security Research Centre, marking the transformation of its previous AI division. The new centre is tasked with advancing scientific research on artificial intelligence, with a particular focus on cybersecurity and the safe use of AI technologies.
By concentrating expertise in one specialised unit, the centre seeks to address growing risks tied to AI adoption, from system vulnerabilities to malicious use. It will also play a role in shaping national and international approaches to AI safety, strengthening Poland’s position in the wider European debate on trustworthy and secure AI.
