Callaghan Innovation delivers the AI Activator (https://www.callaghaninnovation.govt.nz/products/connect/specialist-services/ai-activator/), a source of advice on AI for businesses, as well as connections to technical experts and peers. The AI Activator is a joint initiative of Callaghan Innovation, NZ Trade and Enterprise and the National Institute of Water and Atmospheric Research.Callaghan Innovation, beginning in October 2024, launched a trial AI chatbot designed to assist business to navigate government support (https://www.callaghaninnovation.govt.nz/products/explore/govgpt/).Callaghan Innovation is responsible for allocating a number of R&D funds, most notably through the Research and Development Tax IncentiveT, rohia Innovation Trailblazer Grant, Founder and Startup Support Programme, and Technology Incubators.Callaghan Innovation has the following objectives:To connect industry to research, support tech startups, help commercialise research, perform fee-for-service R&D, support businesses with advice and funding to innovate.
