The Global Partnership on Artificial Intelligence (GPAI) was established on 15 June 2020 by fourteen founding member countries and the European Union to support the responsible and human-centric development and use of AI, consistent with human rights, fundamental freedoms, and democratic values as elaborated in the OECD Recommendation on AI.

Initiative overview

GPAI operates as an international, multistakeholder initiative bringing together experts from industry, civil society, governments, and academia across four Working Groups: Responsible AI, Data Governance, The Future of Work, and Innovation & Commercialisation, supported by a Secretariat hosted by the OECD in Paris and two Centres of Expertise in Montréal and Paris.
