Established in 2020 within the BMAS, the Observatory on Artificial Intelligence in Work and Society examines the impact of AI on the world of work and advocates for a human-centred and responsible approach to AI adoption. It collaborates with businesses, labour unions, civil society, academia, and international partners to develop guidelines and policy recommendations that ensure AI is used ethically and effectively.

Initiative overview

AI - these two letters evoke a wealth of associations across society. Ideas of a future in which many of today's problems will be solved by technological developments, as well as fears of these very developments. One thing is certain: artificial intelligence is of great importance for each and every individual, whether in working and economic life, in science or for our social fabric. That is why it is so important to find answers to the many questions, to establish connections and to enter into discourse. The Observatory for Artificial Intelligence in Work and Society - or AI Observatory for short - is working on this with a scientific approach.
