Initiative overview

Learning Systems are changing society and industry. They are becoming increasingly commonplace supporting people in their work and everyday lives, for example automated traffic systems, medical diagnostics tools and assistive emergency technologies in disaster zones. They can help improve quality of life in many different respects, but are also fundamentally changing how humans and machines interact. Learning systems need special skills and their usage raises numerous social, legal, ethical and security questions.
