Amid recent advances, especially in Generative AI, we refreshed our National AI Strategy in 2023. Guided by the vision AI for the Public Good, for Singapore and the World, our second National AI Strategy outlines how we will achieve our vision for Singapore to be a place where AI serves as a force for good, and where we harness AI to uplift and empower our people and businesses.

National AI Strategy 1.0
In 2019, we unveiled our first National AI Strategy, outlining plans to deepen the use of AI to transform our economy. By 2023, our early investment in AI led to the establishment of about 150 teams working on research and development, and 900 startups exploring new ideas with AI.

It covers nine dimensions for generative AI which should be looked at in totality - (a) accountability; (b) data; (c) trusted development and deployment; (d) incident reporting; (e) testing and assurance; (f) security; (g) establishing content provenance; (h) safety and alignment research & development; and (i) AI for Public Good.
