Regional AI Hubs at universities
InnovAIte Slovakia brings together regional universities and local industries to advance research and innovation in artificial intelligence. Universities have established dedicated AI research hubs focusing on practical applications. The initiative fosters collaboration and supports the development of AI solutions tailored to Slovakia’s economic and social needs.
AI-specific programmes
Twenty-two degree programmes in artificial intelligence are now offered at six Slovak universities. These programmes benefit students interested in studying AI and related fields. The initiative addresses growing demand for AI skills in education and the tech job market.
Development and construction of a supercomputer
This project aims to construct high-performance computing capacities, adding to the procurement and operation of publicly accessible national high-performance computing infrastructure, which is set to serve not only the academic community, but also public and state administration institutions, as well as private research and development.
AI for Policymaking
The Slovak government is exploring the use of AI for data-driven policymaking. This involves using AI to analyse large datasets to identify trends, predict outcomes, and inform policy decisions. Such initiatives aim to make policymaking more evidence-based and effective.
MIRRI Information hub for artificial intelligence (AI).
The new website, created in collaboration with the National Artificial Intelligence Platform "AIslovakIA," aims to provide easy access to relevant legislation, documents, and initiatives in the field of AI. It is part of fulfilling the measures of the Action Plan for the Digital Transformation of Slovakia 2023-2026. The platform's main goal is to offer both experts and the general public access to information on AI legislation, events, study programmes related to AI.
