The OECD.AI Policy Navigator

This draft Act would implement the EU AI Act and Data Act in Slovak national law. It would establish the Office of Digital Integrity as the central competent authority responsible for supervising AI systems and data sharing. The initiative aims to ensure legal certainty, market safety, and the protection of fundamental rights regarding AI technologies, while also defining penalties for non-compliance and setting up a governance framework for trustworthy AI.

This national strategy aims to transform Slovakia into an energy-computational hub by leveraging carbon-free energy for AI Factories. It addresses labour shortages and fiscal constraints by automating public administration and creating a sovereign AI adaptation layer. The initiative centralises AI governance to ensure data sovereignty, ethical standards and economic growth in line with EU Digital Decade 2030 goals.

InnovAIte Slovakia brings together regional universities and local industries to advance research and innovation in artificial intelligence. Universities have established dedicated AI research hubs focusing on practical applications. The initiative fosters collaboration and supports the development of AI solutions tailored to Slovakia’s economic and social needs.

This project aims to construct high-performance computing capacities, adding to the procurement and operation of publicly accessible national high-performance computing infrastructure, which is set to serve not only the academic community, but also public and state administration institutions, as well as private research and development.

Twenty-two degree programmes in artificial intelligence are now offered at six Slovak universities. These programmes benefit students interested in studying AI and related fields. The initiative addresses growing demand for AI skills in education and the tech job market.
