Introduced in July 2024, this Bill prohibits the use of children's images to train or improve AI systems without the explicit consent of their parents of legal guardians. It seeks to amend the Statute of the Child and Adolescent (Estatuto da Criança e do Adolescente) and the General Data Protection Law (Lei Geral de Proteção de Dados Pessoais) to include specific penalties for violations.

The program consists of a controlled environment to test technologies associated with artificial intelligence (AI) developed by participants. The objective is that by fostering innovation in this controlled space, good practices are implemented to ensure compliance with personal data protection rules and principles.

Introduced in May 2023, this Bill establishes a national legal framework for the development, implementation, and use of AI systems in Brazil. It defines principles, rights, and obligations to ensure AI is used ethically, safely, and transparently. The bill includes provisions on risk classification, governance, accountability, and human oversight. It also introduces mechanisms for risk mitigation, public participation, and sectoral coordination.

The MCTI/EMBRAPII Network of Technologies and Digital Innovation is the largest and integrated ecosystem in Latin America, with 19 EMBRAPII Units, involving around 250 experts in Artificial Intelligence.

The Governance Committee is responsible for monitoring and evaluating the Brazilian Artificial Intelligence Strategy, and it is composed of private and public organisations, civil organisations and specialists.
