Initiative overview
The initiative aims to create conditions for innovation in the use of AI. The regulatory sandbox approach allows developers to test their solutions in a real-world environment in the absence of established regulatory procedures, while also receiving technical, legal, and other forms of expert support. The experience gained is intended to inform the development of appropriate legal and ethical frameworks for the deployment and use of such innovations.
Impact:
- This initiative responds to the growing need to foster responsible and secure AI development in Ukraine. As AI applications become more widespread, especially in critical sectors such as healthcare, security, education, and public services, there is an urgent need to balance innovation with the public interest, safety, and compliance with national and international standards.
- The sandbox framework addresses this need by offering a structured, transparent mechanism to assess new technologies before they are scaled or deployed more broadly. The experience gained will not only contribute to the development of national legislation in the fields of AI and blockchain, but also help identify and address gaps in existing laws and support the preparation of proposals for their amendment.
