The programme deepens public servants’ knowledge of digitalisation and the use of digital technologies, including blockchain, virtual assets, and artificial intelligence. It highlights the role of AI in cyber security, the opportunities and risks of its application in public administration, and develops practical skills for optimising work processes while ensuring cyber hygiene and ethical AI use.

Initiative overview

The target audience of the programme “The Potential of Digital Technologies and Artificial Intelligence in the Professional Activities of Public Servants” includes civil servants and local self-government officials. The programme covers the following training topics: 

  • realities and prospects of global digitalisation; general overview of artificial intelligence (AI);
  • common threats posed by AI; 
  • risks for public servants and prevention measures; 
  • global experience in the use of AI and international regulation; 
  • the use of AI in the public administration system of Ukraine; 
  • and practical skills and competencies in applying AI tools in the professional activities of public servants.

The expected learning outcomes include comprehensive knowledge of the history, development, and prospects for the ethical use of AI tools in Ukrainian public administration. Participants will gain familiarity with the main methods and tools of AI that may be useful in their professional work.

Objectives:

The programme also aims to develop the ability to anticipate key technical and social aspects of emerging threats related to AI use in public administration and to apply AI tools effectively in these activities. The skills acquired during the training will enable participants to utilise AI ethically, and to design, develop, and present projects involving AI tools.
