Initiative overview

After committing to develop a National AI Strategy via the Future of Jobs report 2019, Ireland launched its cross-government strategy after a brief public consultation process (Oct 2019-Nov 2019).The initiative has the following objectives:To build strong public trust in AI as a force for societal good in Ireland.To generate an agile and appropriate governance and regulatory environment for AI.To increase productivity through a step change in AI adoption by Irish enterprise.To foster better public service outcomes through a step change in AI adoption by the Irish public sector.To promote a strong Irish ecosystem for high-quality and responsible AI research and innovation. To guarantee data, digital and connectivity infrastructure which provides a secure foundation for AI development and use in Ireland.To prepare the workforce for adopting AI.
