The National Data Centers Plan is a Chilean government initiative covering the period 2024–2030 that aims to position Chile as a regional hub for data centres by promoting investment, sustainability and decentralised digital infrastructure, while supporting technological development and research, including artificial intelligence.

LatamGPT is a regional initiative that aims to strengthen AI capabilities in Latin America and the Caribbean through the development of open and locally relevant AI tools. Beyond creating an open large language model, it supports the development of regional datasets, evaluation benchmarks, technical infrastructure and specialised expertise. By improving the representation of local languages, cultures and knowledge, LatamGPT seeks to foster a more inclusive and autonomous AI ecosystem.

ChileCompra published Public Procurement Directive No. 44/2026, which provides recommendations to public sector entities for procuring data science and artificial intelligence projects through Mercado Público. In March 2026, the 2023 version was updated, taking into account the reform to Law No. 19,886 and its new regulation. Its objective is to guide the responsible, ethical, and secure use of data and AI systems in public procurement.

Proposed in April 2023, this bill seeks to establish a legal framework for AI systems in Chile. It defines key concepts, creates a National AI Commission, sets authorization procedures, classifies AI systems by risk, and imposes transparency, safety, and accountability requirements. The law aims to protect fundamental rights while fostering responsible innovation.

Adopted in 2022, this Circular provides interpretative guidance on the application of consumer protection laws in the context of AI systems. It aims to clarify how existing consumer rights (such as the right to truthful information, freedom of choice, non-discrimination, and data protection) apply when businesses deploy AI technologies. The document outlines five key axes: transparency of information, freedom of choice, safety in consumption, non-discrimination, and data protection.

ProChile has established export promotion lines for knowledge‑based services, explicitly including AI, data analytics, and advanced software. Services include international fairs, buyer missions, and export matchmaking tailored to digital and AI firms.
