Initiative overview
Norway has had a policy for making public sector information openly available for many years. Norway also has a "once only" principle that states that citizens should not have to give the same information to more than one public agency. The data catalogue is meant to enable both these policies. It gives an overview of what agency has which data for sharing between agencies, and also of datasets that are made publicly available. The initiative has the following objectives:To highlight the data that public sector organisations have that they can share with each other or with businesses. To address the need to discover, evaluate and access data.
