Initiative overview

The aim of the project is a training application to make complex AI-based projects "explainable" to employees at the interface between medicine and technology. A major disadvantage of AI-based technologies in the medical field is that these systems are not explained to users. Together with Women in AI and the DIO, "Xplain-AI" will explain innovative projects with AI-based content in a user-oriented way – for example, data-driven, automated technologies, integration of machine learning, recognition of biases in the application of algorithms. The training application is barrier-free, web-based and includes human-centered design with an adaptive, human-in-the-loop learning algorithm. The reinforcement learning process learns the individual preferences of the user - everyone can help shape his/her training content by evaluating the content.
