The Data Policy and Strategy establish the fundamental principles of government data as well as the organisational ecosystem to carry out a national data strategy, which promotes and develops specific projects in the matter. In order to make better use of the States data, it is important to advance in the establishment of a data strategy that establishes the bases of the initiative.

The Public Sector AI Observatory promotes the ethical and safe use of AI in Uruguay's government. It provides information on AI projects, shares clear guidelines for public institutions, and creates spaces for collaboration across sectors. The Observatory also monitors progress on national AI and data strategies to ensure responsible development.

Uruguay's AI Strategy promotes the safe and responsible use of artificial intelligence to benefit people and all sectors of society. It sets rules for how AI should be developed and used, builds national skills and infrastructure, and supports innovation. The goal is to use AI for inclusive growth, better public services, and sustainable development.

This AI Strategy for the Digital Government presents the first actions to be carried out, through an open construction process, and shares what has been elaborated with different stakeholders to obtain their vision and contributions, both nationally and internationally.
