Initiative overview

The Centre for Artificial Intelligence (CAI) at the University of Zagreb, established in October 2019, is Croatia’s largest AI research hub. It brings together around 200 researchers from 19 laboratories at the Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Computing. CAI focuses on advancing AI theory and applications across domains such as machine learning, natural language processing, robotics, bioinformatics, and cybersecurity. It also fosters industry collaboration through technology transfer and offers comprehensive AI education at all academic levels, including continuing education for professionals.
