Initiative overview

FedEU.ai is a Hungarian-led project aiming to strengthen national capabilities in cloud computing and artificial intelligence. Led by E‑Group ICT and supported through Hungary’s participation in the Important Project of Common European Interest (IPCEI) on Cloud, the project focuses on building secure, scalable digital infrastructure for both businesses and government use.

The goal is to reduce reliance on foreign cloud providers by developing trusted, local solutions that protect sensitive data while supporting AI innovation. FedEU.ai places strong emphasis on secure data processing, including federated and privacy-preserving methods, so that AI tools can work across multiple systems without compromising confidentiality.

The project is part of a wider European initiative, involving several countries and dozens of partners, to boost Europe’s digital sovereignty. As the technology develops, FedEU.ai will help more Hungarian organisations access safe, advanced AI and cloud services—while keeping control over their data and systems.
